Haskap and cherry mead. Collaboration with Uchu Brewing from Hokuto in Japan.

Masahiro from Uchu Brewing visited us in Sande during the Stevnsbær cherry harvest in 2023, and we dreamed up this blend together while hand-sorting cherries the whole day.

Haskap, also called honeyberries, looks like elongated blueberries, and packs a unique flavor of sweet blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and black currants. The color and acidity is also off the charts!

The fruit is native to northern Japan, and has quite recently been approved for planting in Europe. What better fruit to pair with the Stevnsbær cherries that Masahiro helped us to harvest!
