3 Fonteinen Zenne y Frontera No. 9

Almost fiteen years ago, the first Zenne y Frontera was conceived. The cellar
master from Bodegas Tradición selected twelve casks on which we further matured old lambik. Since 2020, we select our casks directly with family owned bodegas, allowing us to select from a wide array of sizes and ages, sherry types, aromas and flavours. The Single Barrel series is the purest expression of the harmony between traditional 3 Fonteinen lambik and authentic sherry. For this Single Barrel Zenne y Frontera, we bottled a four-and-a-half-year old lambik that has aged for almost a full year on one freshly emptied sixty-year-old
amontillado barrel from Gutiérrez Colosía. This bodega is situated in El Puerto de Santa Maria, near the Guadalete estuary, allowing the dry “Levante” and the hurrid “Poniente” winds regulate the surrounding sherry barrel rooms. This allows for the complex ageing of sherry and nuanced development of aromas to take place. This sherry lambik was brewed more than 60 months prior to bottling.
